The Katyn massacre re-visited

Following up on my post about Katyn, yesterday; I read a good article in a Blog run by The Economist: Eastern Approaches.

As well as reporting on possible American involvement in covering up the massacre of Polish intelligentsia, military and social leaders, it includes reference to the equally shameful attitude of Britain – of which, I must admit, I was not aware.

The blog includes a link to – of all places – the British Foreign & Commonwealth website, which has a very long report dealing with British attitudes and involvement in the original cover-up, and in the intervening decades. It also contains a 10-minute video overview of the events, along with interviews with two Polish prison-camp survivors.

All three items are well worth your time, if you’re interested in the subject.

Disgusting stuff. What was the Second World War all about?
