No need for a map – it’s just a global village, isn’t it?

Total ignorance of our global village

Watching and reading world news unfold this year has been depressing, to say the least. Floods, earthquakes, tsunamis; not to mention the situation in North Africa and the Middle East – and Ivory Coast.

If anything positive comes of this daily reading and viewing, it’s an increased awareness of geography and place names. Some places and regions one already knew, but was not quite sure of; others are completely new, unfortunately thrust into one’s consciousness.

Besides, one tries to keep abreast of all kinds of events occurring all over the world, and to keep tabs on the main players in our “global village”. Or does one?

Can you answer these questions?

1: What’s the religion of Israel?
2: How many sides does a triangle have?
3: How many World Wars have there been?

Easy, huh?

Well, it seems not for a “whole bunch” from a particular place that calls itself the World Superpower – can’t quite remember the name (“begins with… “), but I’m sure thinking hard about it!.
